Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in bronze

Review, photos and swatches

I have a kind of love-hate relationship with Maybelline. I love their affordable products. But hate the fact that they sometimes withdraw the best ones or better still, never launch some of the best of the products or the right shades, say the base makeups. While I loved their previous Quads, some of which were darn pigmented, while some were pretty poor, I had pretty high expectation from this quad.

This actually belongs to my sis and I am glad I tried her;s pretty well before spedsing my hard earned money.

First impression: This is a shimmery quad and my fondness for it ended there. I do like shimmers, but rarely wear them. In strong light, the palette looked like a chaos of shimmers.
The product itself is moderately pigmented ( nothing too great though).
I do not want to make an essay out of this. So,

Likes
  1. It is moderately pigmented.
  2. The texture is soft and blendable.
  3. The applicator provided is quite good.
  Dislikes
  1.  It's too shimmery... kind of chunky shimmers.
  2. Pricey for the quality.
  3. Even with a base, it doesn't stay put for more than two hours on my lids. I wonder where the shimmers vanish as well.
It comes for around 425 INR now. I would say, even Faces Go-chic Quads are way better than this and comes at half the price tag.

Do I recommend it? NO
Shall I purchase/repurchase? Out of question.

What about you? I know most of you have at least one palette of this. How did you like it? Was it really worth the hype? What do you think?

    1. I did. But was not ready to shell out that much right then since I already have two of the Revlon Quads. But in all honestly, I am still trying to figure out how come the Faces Go Chic Quads come so cheap because their quality amazed me!

  2. Ohhh sounds familiar... I have the blue one (ocean blue) and the white in it is too shimmery and the shimmer from it spreads all over the wrong places :/ Didnt review it though.

    1. I totally agree. IMO, their matte quads were way better than these.

  5. I've tried this palette yes its powdery as hell and yes blending the shades gets them too muddy,so yes won't really recommend it. I so wish Maybelline would launch 24 hour tattoo eyeshadows here in India.

    1. For some weird reasons the brand never launches those goodies. I guess they don't want to sell the best ones here and be more popular?

  7. the shades of these palettes dnt ever seem vibrant enough to me. Plus the shimmer creases alot despite a primer. I found my lakme quads better in terms of pigmentation and shade variation.

    1. Honestly, I think the Lakme Quads are great with their texture and pigmentation and staying power, they are hit with me! Totally love them!
