You must have heard about the launch of new products from Maybelline again. Yes, as brand, Maybelline always keeps me interested with their constant launches and newest products. I still do wish they launched all those good products in India which they are

launching in the US. Anyway, for a dark liner addict like me, another black liner is
never just 'another', but something I would take interest in. So, I was pretty interested in trying out this Maybelline Colossal Liner in Black.

My Experience: To begin with, let me remind you again that I prefer liquid liners with brush applicators. Yes, I am completely 'poke-free' I call it. :P I tend to poke my eyes with most of the felt tip liners or even pencil liners. But, once I swatched, I kind of gasped in surprise!

The felt tip is just AWESOME! It is flexible ( not that I wrestled with it) and SOFT! It's not rough or hard, but more on the spongy side which not only is flexible, but is pretty gentle on the delicate lids. Besides, right in one swatch, it delivers intense, black and glossy finish!

This bowled me over! I did not have to press it, I just lightly doodled the nib on my hand, and there it was! So dark!

Dark, black and glossy. isn't it?

I love the fact that though it has not smudged on its own, it easily comes off with water. My eyes have got pretty sensitive these days and I can't wear something which does not come off easily.

Then why not the 'finest'? When I said it, I did not refer to the quality, but the thickness of the lines you can draw with it.

Well, you can easily draw both thick and thin lines, BUT, you won't get the thin, fine lines.

Summing up:

Why I like it?

  • Spongy, felt tip applicator goes over so smoothly to deliver an intense glossy, dark  black color which almost gave me a thump in the heart!
  • Can be washed off easily. Yet, does not smudge on it's own.
  • So easy to use and so portable!
  • Priced at 425 INR, I don't think it's too steep for the quality and price of the other products in the market. I have swatched Bourjois' felt tip liner in Noir ( Black), and I think this is completely at par with that one, only cheaper.

Who might not like it?

People who are more fond of matte finish liners and who prefer wash-proof liners.

For myself, a complete brush applicator loyalist is bowled over by this! Need I say more?

Shall I repurchase? One day I would! ( That's because I have a whole stash of liquid liners I need to exhaust.)
