Himalaya Herbals Strawberry Shine Lip Care: Smile for a cause.

Himalaya Herbals Strawberry Shine Lip Balm review, price.

Needless to say that I have been a fan of Himalaya Herbals for a very long time. I have loved their earlier Intensive Lip balm and their Cocoa Butter Lip Balm which I loved. If you check this blog, I have reviewed almost everything except for one or two latest launches. However, I thought I need to review the Strawberry Shine Lip Care.

Price: Rs 125
Quantity: 4.5 grams.

The brand claims: It is enriched with 100% natural colour, Vitamin E and anti-oxidants and is free
from preservatives, parabens, mineral oil and silicone (which is great because I don't like mineral oil in my skincare).

It is supposed to taste good, keep the lips soft and supply, soothe the skin and so on.

My Experience of the Strawberry Shine Lip care:

The lip balm looks strawberry red and smells of natural strawberries. I
was expecting it to be tinted. But, it is very slightly tinted... the kind which does not even translate to the lips. It feels velvety and good on the lips. The soft balmy feeling is pretty soothing. The balm stays on the lips for hours before slowly getting absorbed.

But, I think this is better for the day time because, on using overnight, I found it had completely disappeared from my lips and even though my lips were not chapped, they were not in their best either. So, if I want something overnight, I have to look elsewhere.

Verdict: This is a good option for those who want to go chemical-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free and I think,  one of the downside of this kind of products in general is what I complained above.

Nevertheless, if you want to go natural, this might be for you.

For me, I don't mind. I am enjoying it for day time while using my other lip balms in the night.

Shall I repurchase? I might. I cannot actually think of buying another lip balm from any brand given the arsenal I have.

By the way, there's a noble cause Himalaya Herbals has taken up. On purchase of these lip balms ( which are inexpensive as well), Rs 2 is contributed towards corrective surgery of cleft lips or hare lips to smiletrain.org. I am glad that a brand has taken up such an initiative which adds to the reason of purchase.

PR Sample. Honest review.

    1. True. The paraben-free, petroleum free and natural colors is not what we really get much in India.

  2. The reason I love your blog is because you exactly echo my thoughts about many products...Himalaya products are certainly one of them...I also bought Strawberry Shine variant...I also found it less moisturizing for over night application but perfect for spring/summer daytime...it has a nice tinted sheen which I really like...

    1. Thank you Sramana! I am happy that it is so. I never blindly praise a product no matter how I came across it and perhaps that's the reason I have a small reader base, but a loyal solid one. I hope I am able to maintain my integrity like I did over the last five and half years now.
True. Even I expected a bit mroe o moisturization. But, overall, I am not unhappy.
