Lakme 9to5 Weightless Mousse Foundation 02 Beige Vanilla

Lakme 9to5 Weightless Mousse Foundation Beige Vanilla review, shades, swatches, price.

Lakme is constantly revamping and introducing products and ranges to its line which I am loving. Frankly, somehow, I tend to lose inspiration if I am using the same makeup and if I keep seeing the same makeup in stores. That's true! Like a true addict, I need things to be exciting.

Back then had arrived the 9to5 Weightless Mousse Foundation. ( I was more excited by the pen drive to be honest. Thanks to the brand because how can I not love the colorful parachute?)

Back to the product, this foundation comes in 4 colors -- Rose Ivory, Rose Honey, Beige Vanilla, Beige caramel.

Price: 575 INR for 29 grams

My Experience of Lakme 9to5 Weightless Mousse Foundation:
The word mousse felt pretty intriguing because at that point the 'cushion foundations' were getting launched in the international market. I rather had high hopes from this one. 02 Beige Vanilla looks quite yellow-orange. But, on application, the orange balances out and what I get is a good shade match.

The texture looks and feels like a moussy skin primer and the foundation spreads like dream, feels so weightless on the skin! It  rather feels surprisingly weightless.
The coverage is light and it evens out mild dark circles as well. But, I would still need a concealer to hide blemishes.

The overall effect is smooth and poreless! Yes! Just like a primer, it blurs out the pores which gives that smooth look. It is like an air-whipped primer-foundation rolled into one.

For the first time in my life, I don't even feel the need of a setting powder.

The best way of application, I find is fingers. I usually do all my foundations with flat top kabuki brushes. But, this one works the best with fingers.

BUT, there are a couple of major issues. First, the foundation settles into lines and pores for sometime and I have to carefully blend it out. So, you have to be careful. AND, on my skin, it gets oily a bit too sooner than other foundations and starts fading in patches.

I wouldn't complain about the 4 colors because I have found a good match. Besides, since the foundation is light coverage, each shade should cover a wider spectrum. Still, 4 colors are not enough. No matter what.

29 grams of the product costs 575 INR. Since Lakme products are widely available on discounts, keep an eye.

So, what is my final standing?  I am confused if I should recommend this or not. While I love the overall effect, the staying power kills it for me. May be I should try it with a setting powder.

Shall I repurchase? At this point, I frankly do not know. But, I have observed that for certain products, it is when I use almost to the bottom of it, working with all kind of combinations and techniques in the process, that I finally make up my mind.  It might be such a case. I am giving it a chance because other than the staying power I do not have a major complaint. May be the brand should make a note of it.

( I want to do a makeup look using the Illuminate collection. But, I had somehow gotten in contact with those acid secreting insects which make their round in Kolkata and I have got bad chemical burns on my face. I am letting it subside for a few days before I put on makeup again. I have got it from one corner of my eyes, on my forehead, on one side of my nose, even on the inside surface of the pinna of one ear and damn! It's painful!)
