Unboxing Oh Cute Box of May 2016: The New Box in India

Oh Cute Box of May 2016, samples, review, price.

India is at last picking up on the idea of trying before buying which is a good thing because speaking for myself, I just hate it when products don't work. I think there are currently around five subscription boxes available in the Indian market. Oh Cute Box has joined the fleet. When I got contacted by the brand, I was delighted because you see, it's 'Oh Cute' Box!

Anyway, the box comes for Rs 490 and there are 6 deluxe samples. The brand says the samples are worth around Rs 2500. Anyway, let's see what the new kid has to say.

Oh Cute Box of May came in a securely packed cardboard box inside which the actual box was
nested. The box is made of regular cardboard box and not sturdy enough to stay in shape. There was a cute ribbon and a sweet doll which is just CUTE!

What I think of the samples in Oh Cute Box?

I would start with what I do not like moving on to what I like.
The products included are all from little known brands which is not an issue for me. But, my main crib is the fact that the cumulative value of the products adds up to hardly Rs 550 which is still value for money. But, I do not see why I would want to spend on something which did not really have the 'Wow Factor' for the price.

Say, with the other boxes, we get a lot more than what we pay and it feels pretty worthwhile. But this box, well, the brands are not really premium brands, neither are the sizes satisfactory given they are not premium brands.Yet I am glad that I would be able to try out some lesser known Indian brands.
On this note I would like to point out that I have been featuring My Envy Box almost since the launch. If you note, I have been very critical of their boxes containing only of sample sachets and over time, they have evolved. In comparison, in the introductory phase Oh Cute Box has given a boxful of goodies of considerable size which I find commendable and promising. I think even the site is not complete and there is not a whole array of products at this point.

While I would not say that this is a good box or a bad box, I would definitely like to see more of Oh Cute Box before I can recommend it to you. I am curious about next month's box and I hope it's going to be better.

Verdict: While I would not say that this has been 'bad', at this point I am not very happy either. The box definitely needs to improve on the brands and the products included and make it a complete value for money which is what exactly I find attractive in a subscription box. I hope if Oh Cute Box listens to my views patiently for their feedback and I hope to see a better box next month.

FYI: The box is available at http://ohcutebox.com and costs Rs 490 a month. On booking of three month's subscription there's a gift and there are higher slabs as well and the number of samples in the boxes would go up with the bigger slabs of subscription. Currently there is no COD. Shipping of the boxes are free.
