I have changed my skin routine. I have replaced a few products from my daily care and I'm glad that I did so. In that bid, I have replaced my regular Lotus Phyto Rx mpisturizer ( because it turns oily after sometime) with VLCC Skin Defense one which I had bought a long time ago.
I had never given much thought to VLCC products. But looks like I have been a fool to have done so. What's up girl?
My skin's always got acne which was getting a bit wayward. Besides, the hot rather scorching summer definitely aggravated it. But not using any moisturizer is not a very wise decision either. So I desperately tried this one on.
BUT, recently I am undergoing a skin treatment which needs me wearing Retino A. It has dried out my skin horribly and trust me, even being an oily skinned girl, I never like dryness on my face. I am still using the moisturizer but it fails to moisturize or soften up the flakies. So, as the product says, this is not for dry skinned beauties.
I have read on Sukanya's blog that used along with the astringent, it is way more effective. Once my treatment is over I plan to get hold of the toner and continue with this regimen until the winter dryness sets in.
In short
Ups:
For the benefit of every oily and acne skin beauty, I declare this a must try!
Shall I repurchase? Yes. This bottle is almost finished. I need a new one.
What about you? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

My experience: The first thing that anybody would notice is the smell of clove or Indian lavang or lobongo in Bengali. It's pretty noticeable and unless you are familiar with the smell might make you a bit too conscious. It felt light on the skin and it has the cooling sensation of lavang oil. I had been using this during the day time only. At first, nothing impressive happened. Then my sister, who has also got acne and pimples started using this at night and her skin definitely looked so much better. The acne were rapidly vanishing and the pimple almost subsided. Well, this did not happen overnight but yes, it happened in a couple of days.
On her advice, I started using this one too and yes, my skin looked much plainVLCC Skin Defense Lavang Moisturizer |

Ups:
- A light moisturizer perfect for oily and acne prone skin.
- Contains Clove oil that effectively reduces acne and takes care of pimples.
- Affordable.
- Sturdy flipcap bottle.
- Gets absorbed into the skin easily.
- Effective
- I use it even at night
- Won't suit dry skin but it is not meant for it.

very interesting review and good to see something from vlcc getting a good review :)
ReplyDeleteCC, even I had not tried many of VLCC products before and I'm not sure how the other products are. This one just did the job!
Deletenice, frank review.:) VLCC somehow doesn't suit my skin
ReplyDeleteThank you Ritu. Hey, that is quite possible. Even products meant for same skin types may not suit two individuals. But since I haven;t tried a good many things from this brand, don't know how others might fare. But from what you say. I guess I would not spend a big budget on that
Deletelooks good!!
