Tips & Toes has been in the Indian market for decades. I don't know what they had back then since I never used them. Until a couple of years ago I think, they revamped and relaunched their products. Even then, I did not give them too much of thought as to check them out in the stores. Ok, on one occasion I did, but the SA was horribly rude. So, my journey ended there.
Recently I got to try a few goodies from the brand and it shows how presumptions can be deceptive. I had tried their 4in1 Foundation matchstick(Review here) which I am currently using and loving.
My experience:
But I did not know what to expect from the lipstick. When I opened it, it just looked like a regular lipstick and I was not able to justify the price.
But lo! When I swiped it on, it glided on, no something more than glided on!! And yes one swipe was enough to give a full on color!! I have no words to really express how breezily it went over. It went over even way better than the Maybelline Moisture Extremes if you have an idea! Now that was a surprise indeed!
The color is a beautiful rosewood which you can wear everywhere and everyday. The undertone is pinkish which lifts you complexion in a jiffy!
In the long run: It stays put for a long time without meals. because of it;s creamy nature, please don't expect it to be extra-durable ( that's logic). But after 5 hours or so, the moisture kind of sinks into the lips and the color dries up without exactly making your lips 'dry'. It kind of gets tattooed on!
If I am all raves what is the problem?
1 What scares me is, since it is too creamy and soft, I am afraid of breaking the bullet or of the lipstick melting during summer. I guess I have to use it up in winter itself which would be quite a task!
2 Plus, I wish the product came in a more attractive and sturdier case. it's the cheap-looking case which , at least it my case, always got me to ignore these.
3 Another issue. Because of the lack of reviews etc, the word have not got around that well and most of the stores don't stock on them which I feel is a shame. The brand should focus more on marketing IMO.
Final verdict: Even though 375 INR for a Tips&Toes lipstick sounds ludicrous, I AM game! I would like to check out the other shade if I can.
Recommendation: Go get them ladies!! especially if you are a lipstick addict and can never have enough, you may find few jewels!
PR sample; But honest review
