Mascara, lashes, lashfall, Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara| Maybelline Hypercurl mascara waterproof| Bourjois Glamour and Volume| Ellis Faas mascara| Lakme Iconic Mascara
So, you are wondering what this is all about? I know I haven't done too many posts like this. Why or how I use a makeup item or why that is sometimes necessary ( the one one more so because I feel, most of my readers are makeup geeks so, I have really very little to preach here).
Anyway, as a novice, I had never understood the importance of mascaras. One reason was that, for a very long time, makeup to me meant a nice lipstick. Back then, I had beautiful lashes as well I think. Since the last two years, when I spent most of my leisure time watching youtube videos, I actually learnt the application, etc. I would discuss my learning curve in a separate post.
Mascara downside and the necessity: Dealing with lashfall.
As I started wearing eye makeup, mascaras started to become an essential part and now, it feels like my
makeup is not complete without it. Since my lashfall due to blepharitis ( I had discussed that here), and then, my bad brush with the waterproof variant with Maybelline's Hypercurl Volume Express which gave me not only a bad lashfall, but also the regrowth looks quite weaker. Now that my lashes had become thinner, I mascaras became more important. I know, I should stay away. but these days I am venturing more into the washable variant and ah! What a relief! I had been doing certain things in order to get my lashes in shape as well. but that's a different story which I would be coming up with shortly.
Why more mascara?
I am loving mascara more, because, after I say powder my face, the powder sticks to my lashes and it looks lighter. A generous coat makes them thicker and I take care to look down and brush along vertically to give them maximum curl without using a curler which might further damage the lashes. Luckily, my lashes are naturally long. hence, my technique works to fan them out and a good coat does the job.
I received one mascara as a gift from a cousin and the other two as samples and the rest with my own money. But since, I don't want them to become dry, I am kind of using all of them. I shall review them shortly and the products would finally enter the arena for a battle while I also come up with how I am letting my lashes grow back to their full strength again.
Here is the list of my humble collection

DeleteI have one from Clinique, and I am satisfied with it. But would like to try a different one the next time I purchase, which will be pretty soon! So, can you suggest something good? I sweat a lot, so summers are usually bad for my mascara trip.
ReplyDeleteHey Simi, sorry for being so late to respond. if you want a water-proof variant go for Maybelline;s Colossal Volum' Express in water-proof variant. you can even check out the review here. If you do not need the water-proof one, try lakme's Eyeconic. I am reaching out for it more often now and it washes off in slightest contact with water. So choose wisely :P
