NYX Dramatic Chromatic Eye Shadow Pigment in Nymph, photo, review, swatches, eyemakeup look, eye look, wash
Let me share a secret with you. I like loose shadows more than the pressed ones. I actually do not like to rub my brushes on the shadows trying to pick them up. Rather, I prefer to 'dip' those and pick up a definitely quantity. In fact, I feel loose shadows let me have a control on how much I pick up. I do not always wear a shadow to it's fullest intensity. Sometimes, I would just put on a wash during daytime and line my eyes for a fresh look. The NYX Dramatic Chromatic Eye Shadow Pigment in Nymph looks perfect on me!
The Shade: Nymph just seduces me! It is not exactly copper, not is it golden. It has a slight rosy sheen to it
and my lids brightens up! You can definitely use it to a better intensity using a base or with a mixing medium.
or you can even use it wet!
Package: Now, I do not like the package at all! It has a plastic air-tight lid inside. Every time I pulled it, the shadow would fly out or spill. So, I took a pin and made a few holes so that I can sift it out. That way, it does not come out in clumps a s well, giving me more control over how much i take it out.
Texture: it is very smooth and non-gritty. The shimmers are very finely milled and never glitters. In stead, it gives a pearlescent effect which I love.
See, this is quite close to my own skin color and it adds an effect without being dramatic.
Quantity: Here in India, these come for around 400 bucks which is way expensive than that in the US and also the number of shades available are very limited. But the quantity is really great! Since a very little is required, I don't see it used up in two years even if I use it everyday ( which I don't of course).
Staying power: Like all loose shadows, this works better on a base and without a base, yes, it would crease! Base and blending is the word here and you would be good.
Here is a very light wash of it on my lid.
See, it looks so fresh and natural on my really pigmented lids.
Verdict: Overall, I am in love with this value for money product and I am indeed planing to pick up a couple of these more in shades which I can use everyday.
In case you want these, I saw medplusbeauty.com has a really large collection of shades of this product.
I would love to repurchase this product and would indeed recommend this shade if you say, are a college-going girl or in a profession where you want a polished look instead of looking garish or going over the board.
