If you are a beauty blogger like me, or just a beauty
product addict like me, I’m sure you have a stash of products put aside in your
closet. You have a lot of products that need to be used up or you have bought
something just because you liked it or ‘just got bored after one use’. Yes, it’s
the confessions of a beauty addict I would say.
I have been through that stage and I can’t say I do not love
shopping. No sane woman would. But how
much is too much? Or does the term ‘too
much’ exist in your dictionary at all? There was a time when I was a student. I
did save up my pocket money, I gave tuition lessons, did small jobs for pocket
money and it’s no brainer that I used most of it on cosmetics. My excuse was
that I wanted to showcase it on my space knowing all the time it was a good
lie.
Well, I do not regret it. But the
fact remains, not only did I spend a chunk of the money I could save, but
products started piling up. I started hating to go back to lipsticks that I had
bought say 4 years ago (do not jump up. I know you are guilty of that too) and
at the same time craved to get what was newly launched. About a year ago, we
had our apartment painted and only then did I realize how much I had
accumulated. Then I went on a cleaning session.
Not many products had expired back then, but I was just tired of seeing
them every day while the truth was, I had hardly used it for once.
You are correct and agree with your words Nivi :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Radha. At one point I was so worried
Deletebeen there and done that.. but i have reduced buying and now im using more.. i do have empties more often :)
ReplyDeleteSame pinch on that. I really used to go berserk at times. now I really more use than buy.
DeleteSo True Nivedita :-s
ReplyDelete1 Week back, I had to get my cupboards re-done n a havoc was caused!
Although, I do finish more now.. but storing empty bottles is quite a pain :-s
Hahah! I agree on that. I would keep everthing stored in a bag and at the end of the month, throw them away.
DeleteMore reason of doing this -- keeping the house clean :P
Totally relate to what u said.. I make it a point to finish the existing product before buying a substitute or backup.. And that's the reason y I still can't boast of a jaw dropping collection :/
ReplyDeleteA much needed post indeed!!!
