What I felt about Maybelline Clear Glow Compact
It indeed took me a very long time in reviewing the Maybelline compact. I was happy at first, but then, something was amiss which I could not point out.
When I first tried it, the first issue was that, the shade was a bit light for me. It's in the shade Nude beige 02. I
think I ought to have gone for Pure Beige or something darker like Fawn. Don't know.
Texture and how I apply:
It comes in a nice packgaging . There's a sponge on one side which is of good quality. There is also a large mirror which is pretty useful. And, the powder is finely milled. The powder goes over matte. It goes over rather a bit too matte if you apply with the sponge. I have applied it with a powder brush and also with my Bourjois Kabuki. it works the best with the kabuki.
With sponge it layers on too much. With a kabuki, it blends into the skin and gives a very natural and beautiful finish.
And what I found later?
After an hour or so, my skin becomes very oily. it, in no way prevents the oil even though it feels so matte at first.
After a few hours, when I checked in the mirror, I was shocked! The powder, along with the oil was looking CAKEY!!! I hated it!
I have worn it several times. And I do keep blotting throughout the day. This explains why even though I have had it for such a long time, I have used so little.
I intend to wear it as a setting powder in the winters when my skin is extrmely dry.
Overall, this is one product from Maybelline I am not going to repurchase. I would neither recommend it to my readers.
At about 170 Rupees, everything is good except for the product. :(
Duh! I know many of you love it. But did you happen to notice the same?

Do that at your own risk. Some liked it much. For me it didn't work. Do review in case you try it.

ReplyDeleteHUh? That's even weird! Good it worked for you at least. I normally do not jump into a brand new product and wait for the reviews so that, I mostly end up buying the goo stuff.
DeleteSince it worked for you, may be it's not bad after all. Didn't just work for me.
