Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in Pure Beige Medium2 review

I have had this Maybelline liquid mousse for sometime in my collection. I have not been able to feature because I have been busy trying to frantically finish off my base makeups.( Yes, I intend to do a comparative swatch and all that in some time).

Let me tell you, I have oily-combination skin which gets really oily in summer and very dry in winter
and even though I have oily skin, I like dewy finish. Weird coming from me huh?

Anyway, the shade that I got closest to my skin-tone was Pure Beige Medium 2. The SA had also matched another shade, but that was a tad bit darker.
Coming to the product

My experience: The nozzle can be locked back just by twisting and no, it won't leak. It's a nice liquid product that looks dense when it comes out, but on touching you can feel it's not really that thick. The consistency is a dream to work with.
I have tried using damp sponge, flat foundation brushes and even Sigma F80 kabuki, but found it works the best with my fingers.

Since Pure beige is neutral, it does takeaway a bit of my golden glow. But Maybelline has more colors in the medium range to fit our skintones, but for some weird reasons, they have launched only the light shades here in India and a couple of shades in the Medium spectrum.
With fingers, it gives me a flawless finish and my skin looks so supple and healthy!!

On my arms, in the natural light, it looks slightly darker... so on my face. But, as I found, it looks perfect on camera. so, I am overall really happy.

  1. Affordable. At around 600 INR for 30 ml product, I am glad that I bought it.
  2. With my fingers, it gives a really airbrushed finish.
  3. I love the dewy, healthy glow it gives.
  4. Works really well on camera.Blends like dream.

  1. My T zone gets oily very quickly, but that happens almost with evevry foundation.
  2. BUT, it not only gets oily, but slides off my nose and blotting with tissue is not of much help.
  3. Since Maybelline does have more shades in the Medium range ( check the US Site here), I wish they launched more shades which would have perhaps made it the best sold product from Maybelline.

Verdict: I am loving this foundation and apart from my Bourjois Healthymix, I am surely always having a bottle of this around.the foundation in this look.

I am wearing

Recommend? I would recommend this for all the dry skinned and combination skinned ladies and for those who prefer dewy finish. But I would not suggest this to oily skinned persons.

  1. This is probably the best drugstore foundation available out there!

  2. I have this too! and liked it.

  3. Beautifully reviewed dear :) .. I used love the mousse finish but it caused break outs on my combi-oily skin :(
