Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and Lakme Perfect Radiance Powder: Comparison of my two favorites left me wondering which one I would pick first.
For a long time, I wanted to do a comparative review of compacts. My two favorites are Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Mohair 007 and Lakme Perfect Radiance Compact Powder 01.
My skin changes over the seasons and naturally, my requirement changes accordingly. Both these are very different from each other. Let's see, how different they are.
That said, which one do I pick? I find the powders have different uses and once you know how they work, they can be your best friends. Since each functions exceptionally well in certain arena, based on the purpose, I am always having them in my kitty. But, I might want to look at the lighter shades from Rimmel. Or may be not? I reall
y wish they launched the translucent color here in India as well.
It has been a long time since I have visited a counter. May be time for a visit?
So, which one are you liking more? Do let me know in the comment below.

Color
Mohair is cool toned and way too dark for my skin.
Rimmel products are mostly yellow toned.
The color matches me perfectly. It looks like my second skin. It is
yellow toned.
The range has both warm and cool tones.
Coverage
This powder gives almost no coverage ( at least none that I see)
which is why, even though it is way too dark, it works for me.
On well moisturized skin, this compact can give you medium coverage.
It works like most powder foundations as I think.
Oil-control
This powder is amazing! I use it to set my foundation. Even on hot
summer days, my very oily skin would remain shine-free for at least two
hours.
It does not do any such thing.
Perfect use for me
To set my foundations or BB Creams.
I am in too much hurry to put
on a BB Cream or foundation and I don’t want dry-looking skin.
Season
Mostly in summers.
Mostly in winters because, at that time, my skin gets too oily.
Packaging
The lid is loose and has no mirror or applicator. Difficult to carry
around.
The case is really good and provided with a good quality mirror. I
don’t like the applicator though.
Toss it in your bag and you are good to go.
Price
Around 200 INR for 14 grams
Around 200 INR for 9 grams.

Availability
Only selective counters are here in Kolkata
I guess your local grocery store also stocks these.
