Sometime ago, I had been sent some products from Isadora. The chubby lip crayons had been a fad for sometime. But So far, I never tried one. When I found so many Glossy Sticks in my kit, I was delighted!
My experience: These are twist up lip colors. Like regular lipsticks you twist the base,
but it is shaped like chubby crayons and I love the look. A desired break from the regular tubes.
The lip crayons are extremely soft and moisturizing. Because of this Indian heat, even though they don't melt on their own, they tend to break at the tip and one has to be careful about that.
Now that winter is here, they are making way into my purse again. And to be honest, they are doing an excellent job.
let's start with my favorites.
11 Poppy Peony: It's a bright color of pink with a hint of red. It looks pretty vibrant on the lips and imparts a beautiful color which is not full coverage, yet intense.
07 Coral Cocktail: In the tube it looks like a bright orange. But on the lips, it's not orange, neither is it brown passing off as coral. It is the purest shade of coral on my lips.
04 Pink Lady: It's beautiful, soft pink.
10 Lovely Lavender: A pink with tinge of mauve.
My Experience:
The Good:
All the sticks impart beautiful colors which are enough to show up, yet, the intensity is not the fullest. You would not get full coverage, yet the color would show up even on my medium skin tone.
On a closer look, they don't feel intense. But step back from the mirror, and you would be surprised to see that the colors are really there in all of their glory.
The sticks are extremely moisturizing. In case you are not eating, they would stay for hours. And even after they dry up/ wipe off, they keep the lips so conditioned!
My Lips do feel plump. But there is no irritation.
They are moisturizing enough to take care of dry flakes.
They leave stains on your lips which are quite deep. So, even though these are almost like soft, emollient balms, your lips won't be left bare.
I have been using them for quite sometime now, and I have not yet been able to blunt out the brims.
The not so good:
So far, the price and availability is India is my biggest issue. 11.9 Euro is not really cheap. But, if I am to overlook those and just to give my opinion on the product, I would say that I am pretty smitten!
Verdict: Isadora Cosmetics twist up gloss stick is indeed a glossy lip balm, lip gloss and lipstick all rolled into one and is at the moment my best lip products.
I am at the moment providing hand swatches. I shall be doing lip swatches soon, just to give you an idea, and may be a couple of Face of the days.
Do I recommend? If you have easy access, I would say , give at least one a try.
By the way, these are sold at nelly.com which ships internationally at the flat rate of US$10.
Product by the brand; honest review.
