Essence Forget it! 3-in-1 Color Corrector Wheel Photo, review, Price| How to use a color corrector cream for under eye shadows?
In my Mumbai haul, I had purchased quite a few Essence Cosmetics products. Essence Forget it! 3-in-1 Color Corrector Wheel was the one which had got me really really curious. I had hear that color correctors neutralize under eye shadows, but I didn't know how they actually fared on colored skin like mine or how they would, in general, perform on brown skin.
So, what does a color corrector do? It balances out various pigmentation and shadows, like lavender takes care of sallow skin, green the redness/snarling redness of blemishes etc, salmon neutralizes under eye shadows. On seeing Essence Forget it!
3-in-1 Color Corrector Wheel at affordable price and realizing that no other brand in India caters these, I took the plunge.
My experience:
My initial reaction was that of dislike. The product felt too creamy-oily and I was clueless about how to handle it. Like, a thick layer, when topped with the foundation or concealer, would slide around and make a mess. While, I wasn't sure a thin layer would provide sufficient coverage. I hated the pink and thought that it was useless... until I realized, even though the packing says it's pink, it's not. It's rather slightly salmon-ish.
This wheel has a pink, a green and a beige.
How to use? If you note, pink is the one I had initially thought was useless. But, not I completely disagree.
Let me remind you here, this one is not the best bait and I would not lean on it too much except for everyday purpose, when I don't want to look immaculate, but still fresh and clean.
I would just take a little and pat it underneath my eyes in a very very thin layer! The creamy nature ensured a beautiful blending and whatever feels oily on the fingers, gets absorbed to provide a smooth finish. So, don't be fooled by the texture.
It provides light color which vanishes underneath a foundation or concealer.. I would either use my foundation as I would on top or just apply a regular concealer. And my dark shadows are almost gone.
I don't think it would completely neutralize heavy dark-circles, but it might do a good job if topped with a good concealer and make the entire area completely radiant from inside.
Conclusion:
The green is alright. Nothing too impressive. but it still does a good job at brightening up my face and cancelling the redness. The beige is nothing to write about. Besides, one color would not match me in all seasons when I either darken or lighten up. But the pink does me good for everyday use
Overall, I like this wheel. I think for 249 INR, it's an interesting product to play with. I accept that it's not the best of it's kind. But, for beginners in color correction skills, this does help the learning curve.
Shall I repurchase? I don't know. Once the pink is completely gone, I would have to decide if I miss it that much.
I think i would rather do an entire post om how to use color correctors.
Have you tried color correctors? What do you think of them?
