Garnier Fructis Oil-in-Cream: I am almost smitten!

Garnier Fructis Oil-in-Cream Photo, review, price.

Sometime ago, I had mentioned that ever since I started swimming, I am trying to use more of leave in conditioners and anything which moisturizes and nourishes hair and skin. By default, my hair is dry and frizzy. The huge waves I get in my hair makes it look all the more unruly.

When Garnier launched this oil-in-cream, was I particularly interested. I wondered if it is a conditioner, some kind of over night treatment or just a leave-in conditioner. To
begin with, it is all!

How to use?
You can use it overnight as a treatment, use it before bath as a pre-wash treatment or after bath, like a regular leave-in conditioner. Moreover, since, as an overnight treatment, it should be massaged on the scalp and hair, it means, even when using as a leave-in post wash, if you have gone nearer the roots, there's nothing much to worry about.

My Experience: It feels like a thick, but soft cream on the hand. But mind, it smells too strong! It smells like the Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Conditioner, only the scent is way stronger. I don't like the scent.

I have not used it as an over-night treatment; but I have used it as a pre-wash treatment and also, after washing my hair. Used both ways in one go, my hair never looked better! It felt soft and shiny and yes, no frizz!

As a post-wash, leave in, it works even better with the Garnier Fructis Conditioner. (On a second thought, the conditioner is good, even though the shampoo is not what I would want to repurchase.)

How I mostly use it?

I have been using it as a leave in conditioner for the last 20 days.I need about a big coin-size amount for my hair which is way past my shoulders. I also touch up the tips of my hair with Matrix Biolage Serum. Overall, I can say, Garnier Oil-in-Cream definitely softens very dry hair, controls frizz and ABOVE ALL, does not make the hair oily or heavy.

BUT, once I wash my hair again, my hair returns to where it was , that is, dry. So, as long as the product is in your hair, your hair is good and would be protected from futher damage ( since my hair has not become more dry than before). but, as soon as it washes off, don't expect your hair to have miraculously changed into something which you dreamt of. And this also makes sense as well.

  • Makes dry hair soft.
  • Controls frizz.
  • Makes hair manageable.
  • My second day wavy hair is the prettiest sight so far! The waves look so defined, and without frizz, it feels like I have actually used hot barrels to twist them into big waves.
  • It's inexpensive. 100 grams of cream costs 60 INR or about $1.
  • Garnier products are easily available.
  • It can be used in so many waves.

What not to like?

Other than the scent, I have nothing to complain about. At this price point, I really could not have asked for anything better for my hair!

Shall I repurchase? Oh yes! No second thoughts here.

Do I recommend? Yes! I would recommend it to every one! Just keep it away from your nose.
