Satsuma Body Sorbet by The Body Shop, review.
When The Body Shop India had launched the Body Sorbets, I was extremely intrigued. There were particular reasons of course. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet |
It was the peak of summer and it was so hot outside that when I came home in the noon, my skin actually felt irritated. The fun facts about the sorbets were that, ideally, these should be kept in fridge
and the cold product used on the skin after sun exposure which should not only feel good, but, should also rehydrate.
My Experience of The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet:
The The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet actually looks like fruit pulp! It looks like jam and the texture looks like fruit pulp extracted while making fruit juice. It does not 'melt' into the skin the way body lotions usually do. Rather, the lotion even feels like fruit pulp would not blend in. But, on rubbing a bit, it starts releasing watery-hydrating something and melts. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet |
And the scent! I actually want to eat the delicious-smelling lotion which looks like fruit pulp!
But mind, even if you love it a lot, do not use it on the face. The direction forbids it. If the product is so mild, why can't I used it on my face? Why can't I use it to sooth my face after sun?
What not to look for in The Body Shop Satsuma Body Sorbet?
There are several things which make this product a bummer for many. These are NOT body lotions I would say. If you are looking for moisturization, do not buy it. Most of the SAs at the stores sold these to customers who were looking for body lotions and I know people who are dissatisfied for legitimate reason. This is not supposed to 'moisturize', but to sooth the skin and restore some water on the skin surface after sun exposure.

Do I recommend? If you are not looking for a body lotion, but something to soothe the skin after sun-exposure, something which smells delicious and refreshing and definitely fun, go for it. Otherwise, no. Try something else.

ReplyDeletetempted to try
Thank you. Let me know what you think of it.
DeleteThis is one of the confusing products from TBS.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I think I know why it is forbidden to be used on face - they retails a separate product for that - Vit E aqua boost shorbet - same texture with different color and fragrance.
Also, selling this as moisturiser should be considered a sin :P
High five on that! Yes, but I still wonder, but dare not to use it on the face.
DeleteI didn't knew this about body sorbets. Very informative post. This is good for summer :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mariyam. This is a summer delight.
DeleteI'm still a little confused as to what the product is. But the fragrance sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis is just an after sun product meant to soothe the irritation of skin. I think you should check it out. :)
DeleteNice writeup dear :-) Got a lot of information about body sorbets.
ReplyDeleteThank you Guddi. Initially, I did not intend this long a post. But, with everything going around these, thought they need a fair chance and some clarification. :)
DeleteDuring last year summer when this product was launched, I picked up only Moringa version...but I am so much in love with this product that in the recently concluded sale I picked up three variants viz sastuma, strawberry & fuji green tea @50% off...I am also a huge fan of Vit E aqua boost facial sorbet...already on my 5th tub...itz just the thing my skin wants during summer...your review is very informative specially for those who have not tried these sorbets yet...:-)
