Lakme Absolute Illuminate and Shine Precision Eye Artist Liner Burnished Brown Review, photo, swatches, price.
Ever since I created a look with the Illuminate and Shine range, I decided not to delay the reviews of the products . But call it my luck, I had a bad bug bite which gave me a strong chemical burn covering almost half of my face including my eyes. Long story short, I had to avoid makeup for sometime.Lakme Absolute Illuminate and Shine Precision Eye Artist Liners |

intensity. In a single gliding swipe, the color shows up in it's full intensity. That way, what you see is what you get.

Very surprisingly, the color shows up on my skin very well. In fact, it shows up in its fullest intensity on my skin and this gives me the courage to dabble into brown liners because I always thought brown would not show up on my eyes.
The staying power of the Eye Artist Liner is pretty good. It did not smudge around for the time I wore which would be about 5 hours I think. Because of my eye condition and everything, I haven't had the chance to keep it on longer than that; but going by what I saw, I don't think I would have been worried for another 5 or six hours. Need to try that again.

What I like:
- The design and packaging.
- The intensity.
- Ergonomic.
- Staying power.
- Did not irritate my eyes.
- Beautiful neutral jewel-toned brown with specks of gold and duochrome effect.
- The luxuriant feel.
Now comes the not so good part of the liner.
When I tried putting it on, in a hurry, I happened to apply a slight more pressure. Mind, I am quite used to using makeup. So, the pressure wasn't anything too bad ( and my eyes are delicate). The tip broke.
I twisted up the pencil and continued using. After sometime, the tip broke again. I continued using, but the rugged edges started crumbling. I thought may be sharpening the tip would help. I was hoping to find a tip sharpener, you know the kind you find in twist up liners these days and more because the cap seems long and the bottom seems long too... I mean, because the cap and the bottom are longer, I thought there would be a sharpener. No, there was not.

What put me off:
- The tip breaks easily. To be losing some product through breakage is a sheer wastage of money.
- There was no sharpener. I demand one! Please! Especially if the soft product is going to break at this rate.
- The price. It's comes at an exorbitant price of Rs 850. Are you kidding me?
- For .35 grams of the product, I don't know how to justify this price point.
To sum up: I love the color, the texture, the staying power of Lakme Illuminate and Shine Eye Artist precision liner and I feel it right belong to the Illuminate and Shine Range of the philosophy jewel meets color but it is damn overpriced!
In the Indian market, there are still plenty of options in similar quality and lesser price point.
I do not know why Lakme, which used to be such a household brand has to hike up the price in this manner. I really want to go back to it for every cosmetic category, but the price is a major impediment.
Have you used Lakme Illuminate and Shine Eye Artist Liner in Burnished Brown? What do you think of this range?
It happens with eyeliner which are soft and easy to glide. Keep them in fridge (lower compartments). It will stay smooth but wont break easily.
ReplyDeleteThe price is way too much for a eyeliner.
The price is too much and a brand like Lakme shouldn't keep such a high price tag on their products.Liked the colours of the eyeliner.
ReplyDeleteI like the color quite a bit :) I wish they were priced well though.
