When I moved to Manila, in a few weeks I missed something ... the Indian sunscreens. Given how much of cosmetic products are available here, I still think that Indian brands like Lotus, VLCC, etc. make the best sunscreens which are budget friendly and extremely effective. Because my skin is sensitive to the sun, I always need high protection ( suggested by my dermatologist) and this is the only high protection sunscreen I could find within budget.
My experience of Nivea Sun Protect and Moisture Face Cream SPF 50:
The first thing I couldn't help observing is that there is no PA factor mentioned which makes me
dubious of it's overall protection. The cream does feel heavy on my skin and in summer; it does not feel light. It is meant to be moisturizing which saves an extra step.
As for it's effectiveness, in spite of using it and avoiding long sun exposure, I have tanned. Later, during my Boracay trip, I stayed out in the sun a lot and later got a tan which made me a zebra and even now I have the stripes all over me. I also admit that I did not reapply every three hours which I never did in my life anyway.
So, cannot completely blame the cream here.
During my latest trip to Mabini, I wore it and well, I still have lots of tan lines.
Anyway, I think people with dry skin would be able to make the most out of it. As for me, I think I would try stocking and sticking to my good old Indian sunscreens for sure.
What sunscreen are you currently using? Any recommendation?
