Ever since I had been actively fighting acne, I started trying out different face washes here in Manila... the major reason being, since none of my familiar and trusted beauty brands and products were available, I needed to gather courage and try out more stuff. Along came Pond's Acne Clear
Anti-Acne Face Wash.
My experiece:
Pond's is a trusted brand in India though i have a kind of love-hate relationship. Some products work
for me while some simply don't. However, usually face washes do not create a problem. Besides, I was looking for ingredients like salicylic acid and another ( I forgot which one) which were not available in most of the products I had or could find. However, I am glad that I had made this choice.
The product is a very thick and dense cream. Half a pea-size would create rich and dense lather which leaves the skin squeaky clean. It does leave the skin dry whereby drying out the top layer slightly and by that also drying out acne or pimples. Since I would follow up with toner and moisturizer, dryness
is not an issue.
The smaller 50 grams ( I think) tube came for about PHP 75
I got a small tube and it lasted me a very long time even after using twice a day.
Tips: Since this is a drying product and anti-acne product, over time the face wash might tend of leave the skin slightly dull. I strongly suggest weekly exfoliation so that the dead skin does not further clog pores or makes the skin dull from the top layer.
N.B. : The directions advise that this should be followed up with the anti-acne moisturizer. But, in the Philippines, I found the corresponding toner, but not the moisturizer.
Shall I repurchase? With my current skin situation, I do not NEED to buy this because, thankfully, my skin is feeling a lot better and is in a good place right now. But in summer if my skin turns into oily mess again, I am so going back again.
Do I recommend? Of course! If you have very oily and acne-prone skin, Pond's anti-acne face wash might be one of you best bets.
Xoxo

Since my skin gets easily dehydrated, I have been using only mild cleansers since 2 years. I could do away with using a face wash from Ponds during my college years as my skin used to be super duper oily. Right now, it changes its mind as fast as I do for lip balms.
