Having tried the Fuji Green Tea Hair Scrub, I have been so impressed. That scrub wash is just LOVE! So, when there was another hair care launch from the Body Shop, I was naturally excited. I had mentioned before that my hair is turning very dry. On inquiring, I found that it is the water here which is the culprit. These days, instead of following up with a regular conditioner, I have been using hair masks only. I was expecting miracles almost! Yes, the scrub wash, got my expectations high.

My experience of The Body Shop Banana Hair Mask:
The mask comes in a huge size of 250 ml pot. It's a really big quantity. I prefer the pot as I can take
out the last bit of the mask and reuse the pot. ( I do try reusing ans recycling as much as I can). Inside is a light nutty yellow coloured mask. It smells of banana but to my sensitive nose, the scent is a bit overpowering which I do not like.
I have used it for some time and here is what I feel about it.
To begin from the beginning, I have extremely dry hair. So, most of the masks work just like regular hair conditioner for me. These days, I am following up with a heavy silicon based hair serum which seems to be slightly working. The banana mask is silicon-free which makes it perfect for those who do not prefer it in their products. I have used this mask in two ways. I have washed my hair and then put it on for about 40 mins and then washed off. I have also used it in the shower and let it be for abour 10 minutes and washed off. It worked the same both ways which is a good thing for me because leaving my hair wet for long gives me sinus infection.
So, I know that 5 to 10 minutes is sufficient to deliver the best.
Result: For me, it wasn't as impressive as I was hoping it to be. My hair seemed to soften up buy only mildly ... nothing which would make me go gaga. I feel my regular hair masks would just do the same if not marginally better.
Overall, I feel this mask is not for extremely dry hair. Those with oily-normal hair who still wants some TLC without weighing the hair down would benefit from this. But, I am not the right person to benefit.
Will I repurchase? No. I don't think so.
Would I recommend? Like I said above, those with oily-normal hair preferring non-silicone based hair masks would definitely benefit from this one.
That's all about it my lovelies.
I know many of you love this product or the shampoo and conditioner. I would love to hear your feedback on the same.
Until then,
Xoxo

Ah! it looked so tempting but review made me sad :( will skip <3
ReplyDeleteMy hair tends to get limp but it still needs the TLC of a hair mask now and then. This sounds like a good fit for me.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your honest reviews and the pictures are great. Loved the picture on the Atlas Rose review from the Body Shop, I think I forgot to mention that on the post.
